The Best Way to Enjoy Oats

Oats are a delicious and nutritious food, either as a snack or as a meal on its own. The health benefits are immense, including reduced heart disease risk, lower ‘bad’ cholesterol levels, and as a rich source of fibre, it helps your digestive system as well.

There are many ways to enjoy oats, such as porridge, bread, cookies, and muesli, but here’s one way that we love our oats. Think of it as oatmeal taken to the next level. For this, you need a crock pot.

Simply throw some steel-cut oats into the crock pot with an chopped apple, cinnamon, vanilla extract, coconut oil, and almond milk all mixed together. The almond milk replaces the water you typically use in porridge and prevents everything from sticking to the bottom of the pot. Set the crock pot on low for at least 6 hours. Leave it overnight and it will be delicious and ready to enjoy come breakfast!

Just don’t let the incredible smell tempt you into opening the lid early!
